About Your Therapists
Shauna Pitts, LMT and Angie Perrone, LMT have been providing muscular therapy services for the La Porte Community for over fourteen years combined.

Shauna and Angie have each worked in a spa setting providing soothing and relaxing massages. For the past three years, they have been working with patients at HealthSource of La Porte.
They each have the knowledge required to provide therapeutic and rehabilitative muscle therapy as well as being able to provide a relaxing and stress relieving massage as well if that is your preference. Since the therapy is provided in the setting of a chiropractic office, most insurances will pay for certain types of muscle therapy as long as the doctor makes a recommendation for muscle therapy and oversees the case.
What is Massage Therapy?

A licensed massage therapist uses a variation of techniques to mobilize and manipulate soft-tissues of the body, generally intended to reduce stress and fatigue while improving circulation. Massage is one of the oldest healing arts: Chinese records dating back 3,000 years document its use; the ancient Hindus, Persians and Egyptians applied forms of massage for many ailments; and Hippocrates wrote papers recommending the use of rubbing and friction for joint and circulatory problems.
What are the benefits of Massage Therapy?
Today, the benefits of massage are varied and far-reaching. As an accepted part of many physical rehabilitation programs, massage therapy has also proven beneficial for many chronic conditions, including low back pain, arthritis, bursitis, fatigue, high blood pressure, diabetes, immunity suppression, infertility, smoking cessation, depression, and more. And, as many millions will attest, massage also helps relieve the stress and tension of everyday living that can lead to disease and illness.
Will my insurance cover it?
The services of a massage therapist may be covered by health insurance when prescribed by a chiropractor or osteopath. Therapies provided as part of a prescribed treatment by a physician or registered physical therapist are often covered. Our staff will be more than happy to call your insurance company and verify if massage therapy is covered for you.
