Your First Visit to Our La Porte Practice

New patients are warmly welcomed to our La Porte chiropractic office.

Your first visit is all about finding out what is wrong and, more importantly, can chiropractic help? We do not accept patients for care unless we sincerely believe we can help them.

That means your first visit will involve a consultation where you get to explain your symptoms and exactly what has happened. We want you to feel comfortable that you have received the time you needed to explain what you believe is wrong with you.

Next, we will do a thorough examination which includes orthopedic and neurological tests. We will also utilize state of the art computer technology to measure your range of motion and muscle activity. We do this not just to determine where you are, but as a valuable tool in objectively determining your progress.

If needed, these tests will be followed by x-ray examination. X-rays help us see your spine so that little to no guesswork will be involved in determining your needed course of treatment.

Dr. Lewis Asks some important questions of interest to La Porte residents - Chiropractor La Porte Dr. Lewis Asks...

Can someone who has had back surgery receive chiropractic care?
Yes. Rest assured that we will avoid the surgically modified areas of your spine. However, what we find is that surgical interventions will often produce spinal instability above or below the involved level. This is will be the focus of your chiropractic care.
What's the purpose of a surgeon's mask?
When I ask most people in La Porte this, most think it protects the patient from the doctor's germs. But it's so porous it does little to prevent the passage of germs. We chiropractors don't bother with masks.
